The Lakota Children's Healing Camp

Wicoti Wokiglega (Camp Goal)

To give life to the values, gifts, and teachings provided by Tunkasila and Unci (Grandfather and Grandmother) ancestors for the well-being and healing of our people, which include:

  • Wacante ognake - to be generous

  • Woyuskin - happy

  • Wopakinte - to wipe off, purify

  • Lakol caswicatun pi - to give Lakota spirit name

  • Woapiye - healing

  • Wowasake - strength

Meals and lodging in shared cabins will be provided on site. There is no registration fee, however, any donations would be much appreciated. Please understand children/youth require adult guardian to accompany them. There is zero tolerance for alcohol and drug use. Lakota protocols and laws will be adhered to and we ask that any females on or near their monthly purification, do not attend, to honor their monthly ceremony.
